“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”  --Margaret Mead

A sprained ankle or toothache can be compartmentalized and isolated, but mental anguish is all consuming. We cannot separate ourselves from our thoughts, emotions and actions.  All that we experience is filtered through our beliefs, and if those beliefs are working against us, we can find it close to impossible to function within our families, relationships, workplaces or schools.  Feelings of inadequacy, fear, hopelessness, resentment and anger play on our perception of the world around us, making it seem unsafe and untrustworthy.   We seek comfort through familiarity, hiding, and escape, until the constraints of avoidance become like shackles and we yearn for freedom.  It is at that point, that the healing can begin. Unfortunately, far too many people get to this point, only to be turned away from care for lack of insurance coverage. It is as if we are telling them to return to their prison of  half-baked coping mechanisms and destructive self-soothing.  We need to want better than that for our fellow humans.  If you know what it is like to struggle with mental health issues, please consider donating to our scholarship program. If you need help, but cannot afford it. You are in the right place. Please fill out the application form below.
